English Language Day

" English Language Day " was observed by the Tagore Literary Society of Department of English on April 23, 2025 under the directions and guidance of college Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kumar. On the occasion the students of B.A. final year were shown an English movie entitled 'The Merchant of Venice' based on William Shakespeare's play ' The Merchant of Venice ' which is prescribed in the syllabus of sixth semester of B.A. final year class. The college principal expressed his thoughts over the importance of English Language and the usefulness of ICT tools in mastering the language. Mr. Ashok Bansal, Head of the Department of English delivered extension lecture on the relevance of learning English language and also the contribution of William Shakespeare in Literature and life. The programme was organized in the observation of Mr. Rajbir, Convener, Tagore Literary Society who also threw light on the social, political, religious and moral significance of the play 'The Merchant of Venice'. The students like Mousmi, Prachi, Sonia, Deepak, Nitin and Pankaj Kumar also expressed their thoughts about the benefits of such programmes in their interest and conveyed their sincere thanks to the principal and the faculty members of college. The programme concluded on a happy note.
